Invitation to soft launch of Worldex (Asia)

Last month I received a call from a Telemarketer inviting me to attend the soft launch of Worldex Asia. The telemarketer claimed that I am guaranteed to receive a free holiday package to Hong Kong, Koh Samui, Pattaya, Phuket or Bangkok at the end of the attendance. The package includes fully paid travel and hotel expenses for 4 days and 3 nights.

I did attend the presentation at Tong “Rolex” Building where the sales person tried to sell me a travel package costing more than $10,000SGD. I was not really interested in buying anything because I attended just to collect for the free gifts.

I did receive the holiday voucher at the end of the presentation and to my surprise, the vouchers are quite dubious and not really that free. Here are the points that I can summarise for the benefits of those who decide to attend the soft launch.

1) The Hong Kong destination is already out of stock. So I think you can skip the invitation if you wish to claim for this destination.
2) The free holiday package is handled by some unknown contractor by the name of Dynamikz Netwerkz which the company themselves claimed that they are not a travel agency under one of the terms and conditions. This company can only be contacted through email. There is no contact number given out.
3) You need to pay a non-refundable fee of $50 per person when you are booking for your destination.
4) You need to pay all taxes including but not limited to airport and airline taxes, room taxes and peak period surcharges (if applicable) when I contacted them through email.
5) Under one of the terms and conditions, you may be requested to attend a promotional event organised by the hotel or resort as part of the resort marketing effort and promotional efforts. Failure to attend may result in you being charged normal room rates for your entire stay.

If anyone has redeemed the voucher, please do share your experience as I am still contemplating whether I should redeem it. The voucher has a validity of one year though.

Warning: Worldex (Asia) is now known as Colonial Strategies

I received a call recently from this company called COLONIAL STRATEGIES and after a little research, i found out that they were formerly known as WORLDEX ASIA. They are a conmon company and the last thing i want to do is to go anywhere near their office. Don't want to be conned off my savings in the greed of getting a free holiday which doesnt even exist. Bull Shit Company! Ang Moh Management.. they are here to con our naive citizens.

I've already told them that i'm not interested and yet they keep harassing by calling at least 4 to5 times A DAY!..u know how frustrating it is?.. they just dont take NO for an answer...if they r genuine why harass people to come for their 90 mins talk?

Calling all timeshare owners beware Worldex has evolved into beautford park in tong building #06-01 it is all the same people with the same old scam. What they do they call you up and tell you that they have a buyer for your timeshare and can get 80% of your timeshare and the telemarketer will get a angmoh to speak to you to confirm your appointment and when you arrive at their office in tong building rolex centre #06-01you will meet people like cynthia kaur or Cyndi and miko and George the white guy and Peter mitch mabbort or he called himself Peter who is the other white guy whom is the guy who confirmed the appointment and they will tell you your timeshare is not regulated and they cannot buy it over from you and they will show a made up report to tell you that your timeshare is not regulated and all the fees you are owing and the only way out is to buy their product holiday plus please don't be taken in by them it is all a big scam and they tell you their product is regulated and can be sold which is a scam and they will introduce their broker travel and leisure it is all crap and they tell you it will be sold within certain time it is the same crap from Worldex who is facing lawsuits now

Thanks to this website and blog coz me and my wife we went for a presentation in tong building #06-01 colonial strategies and was greeted by an Indian chap called Ricky and his Indian manager called mr Prem and was showed their product and after 3 hrs of sales talk we were boughtinto buying the product for $16k and was introduced to a white guy who was introduced as the sales director mark waterson who also went through the paperwork with us and when we came back and surfed on the Internet and found out that all these are scam and scammers moving around and we even found out that colonial strategies morphed from Worldex and this Indian manager mr Prem as he introduced himself and we found out through the Internet that he used to work in takashimaya lgm or later changed name to smith and baron on the 14 floor and he is also a big liar and scammer of those timeshare companies who have been scamming all our hard earned money don't know if smith and baron are connected to Worldex or the present company colonial strategies. Please be aware and be cautious of these companies and those liars and when we tried to cancel they said they cannot and we spoke to one angmoh called George and he said that we cannot cancel so if you receive phone calls to attend presentation to colonial strategies if you don't want to be conned of your hard earned money please don't go

the last time I post my email to give information now my mailbox login has been hijacked, some weird error message.

So people, please just go to Tribunal and not to be intimidated by wordlex, colonial strategies (the newest name change). We are talking about thousands of dollars and 30years of admin fee = thousands of dollars again being cheated by this company. not this kind of 4d3n hotel rooms no real person involved can comment here. People who have gone to Tribunal have gotten their money back, so please, don't be intimidated and fear any threatening. If in doubt, just meet lawyers from this neighbourhood law firm www.hoh.com.sg I have used them before.

Good luck and always trust your own rights, not these ang mohs.

I Just went down to "Colonial Strategies 90mins" presentation.

It wasn't 90 mins as we started at 7pm and lasted till appx 10.15pm mostly from wasting our time listening to the sales person sob life story.. "How he was glad to be in this job than his previous job"

Yes, there was 2 Ang Mohs in suit, a Chinese in suit and a not sure if he was Indian again in suit.

The whole thing looks like a setup.

Choosing an Orchard office location in "Rolex" building. Expensive sounding but I guess the rent must be relativly cheap.

The snr managers, 4 of them dressed in suits trying to give themselves cheap "credibility". But as the hard selling tactics slowly unleash after the powerpoint presentation, their questionable character and sleazy quality starts to show...

They kept asking what is holding you back from the SGD$25,000 holiday "membership" but when you tell them the truth is Money, they don't take or respect your answer.

Seems like they asked for the truth but can't handle it.. ha ha.

after many round of recycling thru their hard sell scripts and many more persistent No from us.. we finally get to see the voucher.

A cheesy colour printed DL size envelope containing 2 pcs of lousy quality A4 paper (1 T&C and a Form)

I see it as a multiple scam thing.
1) They aim for the Big $25K with $5k deposit

2) Cannot get, they go for $18K with $2K deposit

3) Cannot get, they go for montly installment with whatever amt deposit they can beg..

4) Cannot get, they go after $100 ($50 per pax for a couple) they give out the "FREE" Dynamikz Netwerkz voucher stating that you have to make appt. and payment at their website http://dynamikz.com
Hoping some would pay the "Booking Fee" and "Airport tax" at the web site with an enets payment button.

I guess you can say goodbye to any money you paid to them thru the website.

- http://dynamikz.com website has 2 links :
Confirmed Travel Dates and Appointments Schedule that are linked to spreadsheet and a free online calendar that list people names that were booked for holidays.

This serve to make people believe that the holidays are real. but common sense shows that it is fake..

1) Why would a travel agency wants to show the names of its customers?

2) It is also a violation of the "customer" privacy to have their names and package listed for all to see..

if you fall for this, they've gotten you as the right target.

-btw, the pathetic bald Ang Moh even offer to reduce the deposit to $2k and monthly installment to below $100 - that shows how financially desperate they are after you money to pay their rent.-

Confirmed pointers:
- The telemarketer did not say about the booking fee.
(I guess they are innocent outsourced service that were just following scripted instruction and get paid by the nos of people who turn up)

- They don't give out namecard

- They claim this is different from timeshare scams.

- They claim their program is lifetime (60 years) but have a 3 years and 30 years sell back plan/option where you get more than you "invested"
(I guess the moment you part with your money, that's it... nobody know what happens after 1 week, don't even talk about 3 years)

- They use rude remarks comparing their program with you buying insurance, saying insurance you use only when you die.. but theirs u can use often.

- There is a Bald ang moh, a white hair ang moh, one Indian (I guess) and an Asian in suit the asian conduct the powerpoint presentation.

(My guesses)
- The junior sales consultants may or may not know about the scam as they some are quite young and immature.

- Probability that this is a scam : 99%

- Colonial Strategies and dynamikz Netwerkz seems to be in cohort

We refer to the following questions posted with our answers stated below:

Hoping some would pay the "Booking Fee" and "Airport tax" at the web site with an enets payment button.

Answer: ENETS is a highly secure and credible payment method and enough risk assessment has been done before awarding us this facility so you can be rest assured payments made through this will not be said "goodbye" to

Answer: Please by all means make an appointment to come to our office to take a look at the physical files of all the names stated in the spreadsheets for proof of actual hotel vouchers and airticket bookings. We welcome you.

2) It is also a violation of the "customer" privacy to have their names and package listed for all to see..

Answer: Names without personal details like IC/passport numbers and contact details are not an intrusion of privacy this is also to enable our travellers to see if they're dates are confirmed.

I have just a call from them today. Here's what they told me:
1. They are calling on behalf of STAR ALLIANCE
2. They are going to give me a free holiday to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia or Hong Kong (I can choose the destination)
3. They said I got the free holiday because I fly with one of the STAR ALLIANCE members, which according to them its either Tiger, Cathay etc (Note: Tiger and Cathay are NOT member of STAR ALLIANCE).
4. They said I and my wife just need to come and get our free holiday, told me to come on time (630pm), and the event will last max until 8pm. When I ask why I need to spend 1.5 hrs, they said that's the max, I will be able to get my free holiday before 8pm.

They sent me an email, and in the email their name is COLONIAL STRATEGIES, and no mention of STAR ALLIANCE anymore.
And in the email, they said there will be some presentation that will last until 8pm, and I can only get my free holiday after that.

I haven't even go there, but there are so many lies already.

I admit I was curious. But thanks to this blog, now I'm really convinced that it is indeed a scam, and I will not waste my precious time to go and get my "free" holiday.

Oh btw, now they are using "VIP room" at Hilton Hotel, 5th floor. I guess they couldn't use Rolex building anymore as it is already famous for scams like this

To all timeshare owners beware of this scam company Beauford Park which is also one of those timeshare companies who are trying to scam our hard earned money Beauford Park evolved from Worldex which is the same scam company that is in Tong Building #06-01 and Beauford Park is also registered in Tong Building #06-01, Rolex Centre/Building. Now they are moving to Traders Hotel because me and my wife were received a phone call from them that they have a buyer from Europe who wants to buy over our timeshare that we bought years ago and they can offer around 80-95% of our purchase price we paid years back and they even sent us an email and invited us to go to the Traders Hotel and we saw 2 white guys and 1 white lady and 2 chinese men and 1 chinese lady and 1 malay or indian lady in the function room in Traders hotel and after the so-called credit report, they said to us they cannot but over our timeshare because it is not regulated according to them and they tried to sell us their product Holiday Plus that cost $15k and even offered that in 3 years time, we can get back $15k yeah right and they tried to pressure sell us that the offer is only for today and after we surfed the internet and we found so much scam and rubbish about these companies so when you received calls from them and they tell you that they have ready buyers from Europe and inviting you to see them in Traders Hotel please be careful and beware and do not let these companies cheat and scam our money and if you want to be cheated and scammed by them by all means go ahead and make these scammers and liars richer and please do not be silly to leave any money or deposit behind because you can say goodbye to your hard-earned money when you ask for the refund, we should all gang up and not let these liars and scammers get the upper hand

I do not believe in timeshare at all, always careful with such phone calls. However, I was still scammed. This experience is not about timeshare, but it is related to Dynamikz Travel and DYZ Networks. I received a call from a lady on 12 May 10. She was promoting a card called Global Access Card. She said the card allows members to utilise the website of Travelport to book hotels and air tickets at discounted rates, all family members regardless whether member is travelling with them could enjoy the benefits. It is a one-time payment with no monthly subsciption. Furthermore, Chan Brothers will be giving a $200 travel voucher. Too good to be true? I thought so, she agreed to email some information to me. The email was sent from a hotmail account from a person called Sharina Kaveena. It was sent to 8 persons. I now know that some of the email addresses do not exist at all. In the email, it stated all the benefits, one time payment of S$168, but did not state Chan Brothers. It was signed off from DYZ Marketing Department. In my hurry, I did not verify the information and believed her. I transferred $168 to the account of Dynamikz Travel on 13 May 10. This lady called me on 14 May 10 to confirm if I have transferred the money. She sounded professional all the time, even assured me that I will receive the Global Access Card in two weeks. If I have any difficulty in using the card, I could contact her. The card arrived a few days later. There were no travel vouchers from Chan Brothers, only a printed envelope stating a free 4D3N package that has to be booked personally in their office. That was when I suspected it was a scam and someone has just earned $168 so easily from me. I tried to access the website immediately. Of course it didn't work. When I called the number from which the lady called me, someone picked up and insisted there was no such person as Sharina Kaveena. When I tried to call the same number again to further clarify, it was engaged the whole day and I could not contact anyone from that point onwards. On 20 May 10, I sent an email to the lady to request for the assistance that she promised. I never hear from her again.

So, if anyone of you has a card like this and it is working fine, I would appreciate some help. Otherwise, please take this as a warning, just another scam in another way.

here's update again : a group of us who went to Tribunal Court have now gotten our money back, refunded fully! this company just retreated during the second consultation at Tribunal court and ask for settlement. All the threatening of going High Court, blah blah went empty. Anyway, since we got our money back, now we can confidently say to all of you - go get your money back! Don't be afraid.

Hi,

Anyone knows how I can find the number for Our Vacation Club (OVC) in Singapore? Tried to Google but only can find the website for Australia.

Worldex/Colonial Strategies just gotten a Donald Duck into their Tong building. the bald pimp has probably gone home pimping...

Anonymous said...

Oh no. My hb n i went coz they said it was a free gift from star alliance. I thought it was reliable...but it looks like we've been scammed. They pushed different packages to us, and finally showed us the 3year one, that costs 3K. Wanted us to put $1k down, but we really didnt have, so i asked if we can put $500 only. they said yes. Guess that I can kiss my money goodbye. Wish I'd seen this earlier. :( It was held at traders hotel, and the bald english guy was called Mark. Our presenter was called Raj.

Anonymous said...

Oh Mark that pimp. he's still there... ok. Hey Anonymous, go get your $500 back!!!! Singaporeans are so cash rich, $500 also money! You have 5 days cooling period. Go to CASE immediately and lodged the ticket within this 5 days. At least I got my money back. Your arguement is so strong - star alliance being anyhow used, they can get sued! your words against them, and you are not the only one being told they cheated using other company's name. CASE will advise you what to add on.

To all timeshare owners beware of this scam company Beauford Park which is also one of those timeshare companies who are trying to cheat our money Beauford Park evolved from Worldex which is the same scam company that is in Tong Building #06-01 and Beauford Park is also registered in Tong Building #06-01, Rolex Centre/Building. Beauford Park is Worldex and Worldex is Beauford Park so please stop believing those bullshit they are saying now there are new scammers in town 1 white guy called shawn and 1 white lady called anita and 1 old chinese man called elston and 1 malay woman called antz and they will call you first and over the phone they will promise to buy your timeshare for certain amount of money that you have paid in the past and they will get you to bring all the documents down to their office in Tong Building #06-01 Orchard Road and the buyer will be there to see you for 60-90mins and they will say they need to do a credit check on your timeshare and later on the credit report will say a lot of bad things of your timeshare that your timeshare is not regulated and still owes a lot of fees to be paid and so-called give you options but the only option is to buy their product for $10k - $15k and give cashback after a few years. Please stop believing all these craps as the so called cashback is UPTO 100% and if you follow the steps you will only get a certain percentage of what you pay not all 100% it is all stated in the terms and conditions becoz my husband and I were victims of such ploys and all I have to say is that these scammers in Beauford Park Tong Building took advantage of greed and the plight that we bought timeshare before and the increasing costs of the maintance fees and tried to scam more money from us if you have bought into Beauford Park don't worry just go to CASE and cancel the contract and get your money back

Anonymous said...

They just called my husband yesterday and asked when we'd pay the rest. During the presentation, they said the bank would send us the loan and we'd pay them from the loan, but now they said we're supposed to do it ourselves. anyway, hubby told them we want to cancel, and they said we'd have to pay up the remaining $500 of the deposit...is that true? are we bound by what we signed? apparently it's because it's going to OVC, not them??

Anonymous said...

Anonymous, are you still sitting on your chair pondering are you bound by the paper you signed? Wake up and go straight to CASE now, they will help you draft the cancellation letter and fax and mail to Worldex immediately to terminate. So you will not be bound by what you signed. ok? Simple and just go do it. Anyway what other options do you have other than go to CASE to draft termination letter when you don't have that money? Are you going to loan like what they said? Don't be so timid. I am so frustrated as I wrote this as I was a victim myself, and if I hadn't take action to take back my money I'd be wondering rest of my life.

Now now!!! hurry up!!! 5 days cooling period.

Anonymous said...

thanks so much for the advice. Went to CASE and they're helping me to handle it. after reviewing, she said that the timeshare agreement can definitely cancel, but the other $1k is locked up in a cruise club thing that the ang moh told us was a gift. So now requesting for a refund of the $500. If they refuse, I'll deal straight with the cruise travel company called Our Vacation Center. I don't want anything more to do with colonial strategies. I read an earlier post that was in a similar predicament. Have to go up n check.

Anonymous, bravo, good job! fight to the end!

Yes don't believe what Beauford Park told you that they buy into their product and can get cashback in 3 years all these are crap and like today I went to Beauford Park Tong Building #06-01 Orchard Road they said they wanted to buy over my timeshare and the guy over the phone told that my timeshare is worthless in the market and the only reason they came over to Singapore to so-called buy over our timeshare is because they convert 1 sterling pound to 2 Singapore dollars and I went there in the afternoon and was greeted by an old chinese man called Elston and they did a credit check for my timeshare and later on they said that they cannot buy it over because it is not Regulated and blah blah and even implied that there were outstanding taxes and fees unpaid and the so-called only option is to buy into their product so that I can wash off my timeshare and get UPTO 100% of the money I pay on the day in 3 years'time which was S$15K and they think they can scam my money, NO WAY! Lucky I saw this blog and all the tricks that they were using were quite similar to the last victim's experience so all timeshare owners when you receive all calls from Beauford Park Tong Building #06-01 please refrain yourselves from going that if you wanted to keep your money from these lairs and scammers

With reference to your post on June 18th, kindly email to global@dynamikz.com as stated at the back of your card.

As you mentioned you are unable to access the website, that would constitute a technical problem and as the card is not a fraudulent product and designed for you to enjoy exclusive hotel offers, we kindly request that you email us immediately so we can resolve the problem for you.

As for the $200 voucher, please email us regarding that as well and we can exchange your 4d3n holiday voucher for that as well.

To Yu Yuh,

With reference to your post on June 18th, I am in a similar situation as you, except for a minor difference:
I got my Global Access Card about 1 weeks, after paying the S$600 membership fee.I could access the website, but it is of not much benefit.

As I am still in the process of sorting things out with them, I shall not post my encounter openly at this stage, having some little hope that thing could still turn out well.
Kindly email to willie2801@hotmail.com if you would like to know the details.

To dyz(Global Access Team) and Dave,
How could the same Global Access Card program has two different membership fee, with one that is more than 3 times higher than the other, especially both are signed in the same month of May. I believe I deserve a clear explanation.
What Yu Yuh must be true, since you did not deny that.

As mentioned earlier (June 23), we asked CASE to handle the matter on our behalf. George called on the 25th upon receiving the letter of cancellation and asked us to go down and settle it 'amicably'. He said, "I can drag this out for the whole 6 weeks, or we can meet up and settle it as soon as possible." (Sounds like a threat to me...)

Well, I asked the CASE officer and she suggested we leave everything to between CS and CASE. I tried calling CS back, got a receptionist so I left a msg asking George to call me back coz I want him to contact CASE directly. No call, so I emailed him. Guess what? No news from him or CS since then. No big surprise. CASE just sent a followup letter requesting action on their part. I have a feeling nothing is going to be done by them.

Those who are contacted by them, pls pls don't be taken in. IT's very very stressful both during the presentation and if u buy in, it's stressful after too. Save the money for a really nice holiday, coz you won't get one through these guys.

Anyone heard of this company Asialinx located at Burlington Square ? They are also selling some travel membership stuff. You also need to stay to listen to a 90 mins talk before you can redeem a "FREE 4D3N package to HK/ Thailand" by dynamikz travel

I have read the above comments, beaufort park is indeed a scam company...

Yes Beauford Park in tong building 06-01 is a scam company and the white guy who is calling all the timeshare owners is Peter Mitch Mabbort who called himself as Steve Hawkins or Jeremy Thomas and we will see a white guy called Shawn and a white lady called Anita and a Malay lady called Ant Lubis and a Chinese guy called Elston who also called himself as Frank and an old lady called Miko and a more white guy called George Grimes and all these people are liars and scammers

I could not agreed enough with all of you out there being victimized by Dynamikz.

All that is complained of Dynamikz is factual and true.. Dont every believed that the booking and reservation is genuine. I was being charged for flight and hotel after my holiday with them despite I have the voucher from Smith and Baron for the 4D/3N.

We really should be going to CAD, small claim trubunal court and CAD to make a report. When there are too many similar complains of the same matter, be sure our official will look into it.

If we continue to keep quiet and continue to only say in the forum without action, this will encourage Dynamikz and the like to continue bullying the consumer. And we are making a joke of ourselves as a NATO!

This is Strais Times Forum, I hope some one will pick up all our complains and investigate on our behalf with this Dynamikz.

Hi Anonymous,

First and foremost if you do notice this is Straits Times - Stocks Index Forum - not exactly the most relevant forum to make your complaint.

Of course you were charged for your holiday but you were only charged the airport and airline taxes and surcharges and may we correct you, it is charged before you go for your holiday which means you willingly agree to those taxes and pay before going. What were you expecting? A FREE holiday? Sorry that does not exist and its very clearly stated in the voucher that its not FREE.

We warmly welcome you to provide us your full details so we can look into it to see if you are indeed someone who used your voucher and travelled or just one of the many people writing here on baseless assumptions.

And for your information, we have been operation for over 7 years so if there was anything that needed to be done by officials, it would have been done by now.

To all voucher holders, we welcome all enquiries and reservations and look forward to assisting you with your holiday vouchers. Remember, its not FREE, its subsidized...our sponsors pay your flights and hotels, you just pay the taxes applicable (that goes to the airport, airlines, government, etc anyways, not us)

HI!I bought the $800 package that supposed gave 5 free holidays, taxes payable. Also offers 20% discount on flights & hotels. This seemed reasonable till I received the vouchers. It's $99 admin charge per person, even to Malaysia!! I am demanding for a full refund. Have emailed them to reply me by today 12pm, failing which am going to case. I am looking for people who have had similar experience to form a group large enough to take this further. KT

Hi Karen,

Your post on August 13th is at 12.36pm and you mentioned "you emailed them to reply by 12pm?" I think you should seriously relook what you have written here.

First and foremost, you have to be very naive to even think that for $800 you can get 5 holidays? Does it make any sense? Anyone with some basic common sense will tell you its not possible, and that would include our staff as well because they would look very stupid to be trying to convince someone that for $800 they would get 5 holidays.

It would be too good to be true don't you think? Far more than what you have mentioned as a "reasonable offer".

Be very clear in what you write on blogs rather than to mislead others because of your own miscomprehension and remorse. First and foremost you purchased a hotel discount card and the holiday voucher booklet given to you is a free gift from Revelation Reward http://www.revelationrewards.com/

You made a purchase based on the benefits of the card and not the free voucher booklet.

Now that you are clear on this, you have emailed to our department at 7.45am giving us a deadline of 12noon to meet your refund request, failing which you will proceed to case, which you did thereafter. And if you are looking for people who had a similar experience to form a larger group, well let us tell you, there are no others, you are the first who would think that you paid $800 and expected to get 5 holidays.

Dear Dynamikz team

The tone of your reply to Karen borders on rudeness, which is uncalled for, and really unprofessional.
I was one of the lucky ones who did not get duped by your smooth-talking, but I remember at one stage, you actually impose a fine on one of your salesman because my wife and I said that we would think about it. In introspect, it seems ridiculous and my wife nearly fell into your scam because she felt so sorry for him.
Please if you have a conscience, please revive it. There are other ways to earn an honest living than scamming other people. I don't think you want to leave a legacy of shame for your loved ones.

To those with similar experiences: please email me at ktswpersonal@gmail.com

To clarify with Dynamikz Team: I had called SYED, your sales guy twice & even sms him before driving to CASE to ask if I should proceed to CASE or Dynamikz office. SYED chose not to reply nor pickup my calls.

I thus obtained a letter from CASE, which was handed over to Dave, supposedly the Director. The letter requests for Dynamikz to "Please arrange to have a discussion with her directly so as to arrive at a settlement. Please call her directly to resolve the matter within 2 weeks of our letter." Meaning, I have not engaged CASE to go into mediation but to have Dynamikz resolve this with me. (I highlighted to Dave that the letter states Amicably & Resolve with me.)

After their email reply, I wrote:
Hi! It's unfortunate you couldn't reply earlier, as I have called Syed twice & even SMS him on the urgency. There was no response. I thus went to CASE to seek their opinion of where I stand, as indicated in my email to you & sms to Syed. They confirmed that I was misled.

The official letter had been hand delivered to your director, Dave today. As he would have read, the letter very clear states that I wish to resolve this amicably by getting a full refund. This should happen within 14 days from the date of the letter.

When I was at your office, Syed was there too. He stated that I have gone past the 5 days cooling period as the purchase was done on 04 August 2010. If that is the case, then the 5 days should count from the day I receive your package. You should not circumvent the law by ensuring we receive the package past the cooling period.

In this situation, I would then want the refund by invoking the 5 days cooling period. Notice had already been served of my intention for a full refund to Syed on the day the package was received, ie 11 August 2010.

In view of above circumstances, let's not waste each others time bickering on this $800. Just give me a full refund & I will not pursue this further.

However, their reply was:
Hi Karen, Since you have decided to go to CASE instead of seeking to resolve with us and have even decided to go further by writing in the internet blogs, then it seems like you have decided to take matters into your own hands before coming to us to resolve your problem which would have benefitted you much more.

Mr Dave is not our director, rather he is a manager. With regards to cooling off period, there is no cooling off period applicable for the Global Access
Card. CASE would have confirmed you have been misled since they have heard your side of the story, not ours. Hence, we will present our side of it to them since you have seeked they're assistance for mediation.

We would not want to bicker with a customer over $800 but in your case we would since you have taken the bickering to a different level altogether by taking the actions that you have.

To Dynamikz: I did sms & call your sales guy, SYED about the urgency. Before driving to CASE, I sms him "I have penned myself in to go to either your office or CASE at 1pm. Pls get them to reply".

He chose to ignore my sms & not pick up my calls. Thus, I went to CASE. I then passed the letter from CASE to Dave, supposedly the Director. Dave said he will reply to CASE directly. I highlighted to him that he was to reply me, as the letter clearly states that Dynamikz shouold resolve the matter with me through a refund. I replied them:

I replied: When I came to the office, Dave presented himself as the director. He did not deny that position, so I am quite shocked to hear that he is the manager. Separately, please read the letter from CASE. The last para clearly states "Please arrange to have a discussion with her directly so as to arrive at a settlement. Please call her directly at to resolved the matter within 2 weeks of our letter." As such I have not engaged CASE to go into mediation, but to have you resolve this with me.

They replied: ...mediate through CASE as we will maintain our stand
that there is no refund applicable

They replied: We would not want to bicker with a customer over $800 but in your case we would since you have taken the bickering to a different level altogether by

SGD$15000 when they are only paying SGD$150 to their lawyer to send you termination letters and they will ask you to pay a deposit between SGD$500-SGD$2000 to them on the day when you met them and after their lawyer sent the termination letter which is only SGD$150 cost to United Wealth Management(UWM) and they expect you to pay them the balance depending on your negoitation skills. We went to our Consultation day with Colonial Strategies.

The officer gave us an hour to clear things out because I have lots of doubts in this company.

The Holiday Plus Membership we paid for 3K presented to us we will get savings in accommodation and a travel assistance services.

We went out with Colonial Representative only not an employee to answer my questions. But unsatisfactory replies we got. Threaten us they will block our membership because we are going to proceed to trial court. We dont care because the Holiday Plus membership is the most expensive rubbish we bought, all about Holiday Plus is a rubbish.

We went back to the Consulation Officer after an hour and told him that I want to proceed to the next step which is court trial.

I am asking for a little help to those who are victim of this Colonial Strategies Holiday Plus to send a letter or statment to support all the MISLEADING CLAIMS of this company at rglindro@yahoo.com

If you need also a statement from a witness I will do it also for you.

No one will believe in you Mr Jason Tan, If I were the one got that good holiday I wont mind to post here anymore. I know that you are from dynamikz using different names again and again like worldex to colonial to beaufort to ULG to ... what's next?

Just came from this colonial strategies talk. And definitely a scam. Beware of this. This guy Darren and Ricky got angry when we did not sign up. This should be stop now.

Anonymous said...

We just went to Colonial strategies and they seems ok for ma and my husband and the presenter Darren was very good and very animative and we don't think this company is a scam because we did received our holiday gift as being promised over the phone especially even we did not sign up for the package and they were still very polite unlike the previous presentation the moment we said no, they pulled a long face and said rude remarks but this time in Colonial Strategies we felt that everybody are very nice and courteous and we should all keep an open mind.

Hello.. just wondering if those who said good about the company are actually from the company itself or sales people working there to give good comments soto make people attend the session.

Conning people are very bad...

Pinky said...

I agree, these people saying good things about these scams are from its company itself. All the bad things they did will bounce back to them twice as they did!

They can escape in the eyes of a human but they can never escape in the eyes and power of God.

Until today, for the last 5 years, NOBODY can even stop these people. They have been enjoying and laughing to the bank every single day. Changing company names and moving around and it seems like the LAW can't even catch up with them. Everybody just blah...blah...blah BUT nothing happen. Very SAD ... It's seems they have outsmart the smartees in Singapore and the irony is, the highly educated so called high income earner is always the victim. Sometimes, it pays to be average. Keep up the good work Worldex or whoever you are, BUYERS ARE IGNORANCE and SMART = STUPID...lol

I just went to attend this Colonial Stagtigist company thing and for the longest time, 4hrs presentation and kept offer and offer me different ways to pay for the membership. Ask me go loan and pay them. FYI, they now offer the membership as an investment and with guaranteed returns after 30yrs. The money is held by Hutchison Trust and we have to pay USD120 per year. But i kept feeling something is wrong so i say i have alot of commitment and cannot afford. you know what the Darren guy say? "This is why the rich get richer" Everybody knows what is the next sentence after this. i felt quite offended.

So guys and gals out there, please dun be so clever and sign. There is no investment that returns more than 100% within 3yrs and has no risk one. Unless mayb you buy blue chip or go casino. But all these got risk lor.

Mike,

Thank you for your comments. I received a call from a telemarketer also offering a free 4 days 3 nights to Hong Kong or Thailand. Fortunately, my girlfriend is resourceful enough to find your comments and avoid the unnecessary trip to claim my gift @ #04-24 Orchard Towers

Hi Mike Dirnt,

Thanks for posting this note on Colonial Strategies. Thanks to your post, we didn't even go attend the presentation.

I got a phone call, same drill and i did smell a rat. The woman kept assuring me i didn't have to pay anything no hidden cost but when i probed more, they didn't seem to wanna reveal more.

Thanks for sharing this, you helped loads of couples who may have been conned.

Hi all,
I just attended a presentation by Colonial Strategies Pte Ltd at 5pm. When we arrived there at Tong Building #06-01, the sale person wanted us to off our handphone which I refused as I told them, my husband and I need to be on standby due to our work.. then reluctantly she allowed. After all the friendly chit chat and the presentation, I wanted to return a call, the sales person ‘escorted’ me and waited for me to finish the call. Then I told her that my husband needs to leave for a wedding dinner which he showed her a sms to proof, she reluctantly ask her supervisor who was so rude! He chided her for not checking with us before if we need to leave early. Apparently before us there was another couple also left halfway due to some family dinner, so this poor sales person gor scolded again. Before we go, we wanted to ask her how much is the ‘investment’ but she refused to tell us. Actually I felt sorry for her but thanks to all your comment, now I’m glad I left earlier. .

But now there is a “challenging task”, beside giving us $800 travel voucher, they are giving away tablets, we were told by the telemarketer either a ipad or samsung galaxies. I now read carefully, we have to mail this voucher within 3 working days in a registered mail, with a cheque of $89 payable to Citycorp Media Ptd Ltd @ 133 New bridge Road #02-41A/42/43/44 Chinatown Point PO Box 0532. According to a few of the terms and conditions which I found tricky,
1) No orders can be picked up from CM
2) $89 is to cover registered mail/delivery, handling, packaging, adminstration and insurance costs
3) C.M. reserves the right to change redemption value withour notice to reflect actual packaging, hand-delivery, adminstation and insurance cost
4) Allow up to 8 weeks of delivery
5) No telephone enquiries will be entertained, and any/all enquiries must be submitted in writing

So now I need to discuss with my hubby when he is back if we should ‘waste’ the $89 and see if we really can get the tablet.. will keep you guys posted if we decided to ‘test’ out.

I won in my court case against Colonial Strategies. Please do not be intimidated by their threats. I was discouraged by CASE to file a claim, but I pressed on.

Colonial offered partial settlement but I refused. They responded by filing a counterclaim against me for GBP 1000. But I stood firm.

I encourage those of you who have been deceived by this company to go directly to the Small Claims Tribunals and file a claim there.

It's interesting that till today, this thread goes on, and Dynamik are still posting up info in their clients (who has gone where).

Received a call today from 'AirTravel' from the number 68367514. Googled the number and I got this page.

I'm not convinced by the FREE holiday, so will change my mind about the talk.

Airtravel... Doesn't that sound like the website that you can book your airfare and hotels, etc? They're pretty trusted, and publicity and using of names like this can't be good for business.

Anyways, those who are still at SCT pending claims, or still waiting for those refunds (which I'm not sure you'll get), good luck yea!

Anonymous said...

Hey all, my hubby and myself attended this "talk" session again yesterday. Before that , they called up my hubby say they were from "Air Travel" and we have been selected by them randomly for this 4d3n tour for FREE. and my hubby ask again she said yes, "FREE" not even a single cent is needed. But on one condition , we have to go to their office personally to redeemp them , even sms us that we need to bring our NRIC for verification purposes. The minute my hubby told me , straight away i know this must be another scam. but ok. Since he is really excited, i attend with him. I am not comfortable to give them our details before the session starts seriously i can sense that place is up to something. Now they are called the "Dynamikz Netwerkz" instead. And we look around there is NOTHING call Air Travel and no such person call 'Laura' as told by my hubby. Ok, we sat down and he start asking alot of questions about our travalling plans and frequency blah blah blah. We have to pay VIP rate of few thousands dollars, of coz can pay by installment to be their member. On top of that, annual fee of S$50 yearly which cannot be waived off. What the hell? it's not as if i can travel for FREE after being their member, i only get to pay the fares 10-15% cheaper? Then what the hack is the few thousands dollars of membership caters for? to fetch better seats in plane? even the fares is 10-15% off, we already paid these 10-15% for our membership, so why take a big round just to travel maybe 1-2 times a year? It's ridiculous. Now even offer monthly installment. Paying something which is not physically there, or helpful at all. Not as if you hired a maid or bought an expensive bag! So people out there, be really smart and think before you throw in ur hard earned cash in.

Anonymous said...

My husband and I have enough of Dynamikz. We have been paying our installments since 2010.
They gave us, tons of excuses.
And the best part is we have never recieve any booklet they mention and the additional items that they offered. Only a card that does nothing.
We are going to CASE.
Any advice on how are we going to get back our hard earn money.
Sincerely appreciated.
Thank you.

Its a good program if you do travel and go for holidays. But if you think you do not travel for holidays then there is no point in purchasing. I went as well and its not just about airfares saving of 10-15% there were other discounts for hotels, resorts, cruises and tour packages and it makes total economic sense to take it up if you travel. There were no purchase obligations and the staff were absolutely friendly and jovial even when I turned down their offer because of my newborn I won't be travelling for quite awhile. Its not like some timesharing talks where they put pressure to buy, this one was very informative and not pressuring at all.

Anonymous said...

I was one of the victims who signed up for Dynamikz Netwerkz membership. But, I went to Small Claims Tribunal and got full amount back from them for non-performance. The iditos didnt give me the discounts as promised. Thank god i have all the proof.

During the mediation, the customer service officer was soo stoopid and arrogant. Of course, the mediators didnt give face to her. During hearing, Judged wasnt even impressed by her and made her looked like a fool. Without much question, they were ordered them to pay me in full!

Success is sweet! I encourage everyone to go to small claims and get your money back! This of course has to be done within 1 year upon signing for membership.

Anonymous said...

Well...I like to say that whatever you guys do please ..please don't ever go for any holiday invitation just like timeshare or similar to that effect if any invited by Colonial Strategies or Holiday Plus as these are a scam and never at any time be hooked for the promise land

Dynamikz Travelz at ORCHARD TOWERS Unit 04-24 & 04-25 is also known as CONNECTIONS TRAVEL.
They are SCAM!
Singapore is so strict, why do the govvt allow such mionkey business running in singapore?
They take money frfom people and not able to deliver their promises.
CASE! is useless, they cant put force on the company to court.
Small claims are already numb to such cases. No serious action have been taken to dynamikz travelz at all. Victims of Dynamikz travelz, just have to throw the money away, or take it as donations to the SCAM company.
Why those who are victims, never thought of making policereport and bring the compsny to court. Under cheating case.

Jacqueline said...

Whats the need to take action against Dynamikz? They obviously must be doing something right unlike the rest that have changed their names and locations multiple times to avoid detection...the voucher has been in existance for ages and it seems just cos some of us here did not get to use it to travel it does not mean we should accuse them of scam and cheating. I am one of the unfortunate ones who could not get my requested travel dates and was given an option to reschedule or refund to which i requested a refund of my booking fees and i got my cheque from them accordingly so i dont think we should call them cheating otherwise by now they would be shut. On the other hand my colleague who got the exact same voucher for some dining promotion he took part in did get his trip so i guess its either the luck of the draw that some of us get it whilst others dont have it materialized becuase of whatever reasons. Anyways, I'm also one of those who did not get the dates i wanted so theres pretty much no reason for me to be siding with them but coming from a neutral perspective i think there's no necessity to flame them here as they can't be in existance for so many many years otherwise

Anonymous said...

I just received the so-called 4D3N complimentary voucher (literally an A4 paper with lots of text & bad design) from Dynamikz Netwerkz with condition that you must spend at least an hour (I can forsee it going up to 2hrs or more) with Dynamikz. This voucher was promised by a Telemarketer if I attend a property investment talk by T-ierra Group Pte Ltd, which I did because I was interestd to find out @ the property. I only realised the voucher was from Dynamikz at the end of the T-ierra property talk (wasn't too impressed either) and after google search, found this site. I just want to share that any party that works with Dynamikz definitely has little credibility. I will not waste my time to claim this voucher. It's obvious there are people still being scammed by them, so we need to spread the word to warn others of these companies, and how they will scam you especially with their so called "at least one hour talk".

Anonymous said...

Anyone went down to the talk by concord developement at OCBC centre? They promised a tablet as gift but as what anonymous dated 18dec at 1100pm mentioned, you need to pay $89 to cover their delivery, package/handling fee.

Wonder will we really get the tablet?

Roger Siow said...

Hi Dynamikz Resevation,

I have recently attended a talk under Concord Developments Pte. Ltd and was entitled a free travel as promised but I need to attend a talk by Dynamikz. I will be sending you my email soon and I also will leave my message here to show people how I claimed my holidays to see if this is legitimate or not.

Before I begin, I am in IT business so if I am not going for my free holiday as claimed, you be sure you will be the famous overnight in all the blogs, news and tweets.

For my fellow Singaporeans,

I already know this is a scam but I chose to go because I wanted the free gifts. I wanted to share some tips with my fellow brothers and sisters so that we can make scammers bankrupt! Here is how you do it.

1) If you receive such call, GO.

2) Leave all your wallets, cash card, credit card, cheque book and cash in your car or house. Do not bring with you.

3) when you reach the venue, you must hypnotize yourself to say NO.

4) no matter what they say, do not be moved by greed. Greed is the no1. killer. even they say you give them $10 they give you a holiday, you say NO.

5) Be as boastful as possible. I was there and told them my holiday expenditure is about 10 to 20K min. I like to go European and US. Now they will divert all their manpower to you. This is the big show. They say they can save you so much and then this is how you reply them: You think I cannot afford the holiday? If I save this X amount, I will make alot of ppl in airline, hotels and agencies lose their job. Because I am not spending, the economy will collapse. Then when economy collapse I have no job and cannot go holiday. Therefore why do I want to save that "X" dollars?????
At this stage most of the sales agent will have nothing to say. (unless you hit a real good one, most ppl incl those ang mos will be dumb after this)

6) Go and get your prize and make sure you do what they tell you. Be as loud as possible. They wanted you to spread their name by word of mouth, do so. Tell people how u claim your holiday.

Now the idea is if everybody goes and claim the prizes, no one buys from these scammers, who is paying for all the holidays? Then you see my logic, one by one, they will drop and nobody will come to SG to scam anymore.

So if you receive that call for the free gift and can afford the time, go and claim. and yes there is no free lunch for them not us! :) Dynamikz, so be sure I get to fly if not you will fly!!!

Oh reply me if you dare ;P

Cheers

Roger Siow
Scammers Beware

Disappointed said...

To Dynamikz Management,

I have been looking through these comments and the case is very clear to all of us. I do not need to repeat this. Although I am years late in replying, time is of an essence and has proven itself well.

First, you would have claimed boldly that " the reason why we are still present and why we are not some dodgy "timeshare" company that needs to change its name every once in awhile to avoid detection. " However, time and again people have been providing evidence of your 'name' being repeated many times, Dynamikz Travel, Data Dynamikz, Dynamikz Netwerkz. What can you say about this? This is akin to 'Microsoft'. Wouldn't it be suspicious if that company was to name their company different names; "Microsoft Travels", "Data Microsuftz"?

Next, in your policy you firmly stated that "only married couples above 28" are able to attend the talk and NO children are able to attend. What does this mean? If you boldly claim you are NOT a scam, how about letting the whole family pay a visit to your company to have a chat together? "We do not have child facilities". What utter nonsense is this? Must I install a playground, or a LAN shop, so that children can visit your company? I would gladly accept your challenge and pay you a visit, but unfortunately I am considered a child and your company, even closing more than 2000 deals, cannot even provide the simplest "child facilities" for the local Singaporean.

You have also been hurling accusations at fellow Singaporeans about them " who chose to flame others for your own incompetence who bring out the negative of others behind the facade of your PC." It is a double-edged sword in this circumstance. When it may be Mike who is the keyboard warrior is this case, how about your own company? Haven't you also been hiding behind YOUR own facade of Mr Dave?
Look at an example of these websites. If you do NOT claim your company is a scam, why do you go the extra mile to check on these websites, be the first in line to defend your company? You are paranoid for the fear you would be accused for what you really are.

4)http://tomorrow.sg/archives/2006/09/01/of_timeshare_scam_artists.html

Ctrl + F and search Dave. He is ALWAYS in it. Does this mean 'Dave' runs this whole company? Why is it when my parents went down for your talk, there is no Dave? Is he nothing, but an Internet facade when trouble arises?

And also, in an excerpt from CASE website,
http://app.mti.gov.sg/default.asp?id=565#4
certain rules which states:

1)To do or say anything, or omit to do or say anything, if as a result a consumer might reasonably be deceived or misled.

In this case, many consumers were misled. An example, Liz said that "What I do know is that I heard not one but three different telemarketers assure me my 'free holiday' wouldn't cost me a cent, and that the written materials I received stated to the contrary that 'subsidies are exclusive of standard airport and airline taxes'.". You clearly violated the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act. What can you say about this? Do not hide behind the facade of your PC and claim that it is a SUBSIDIZED travel after the damage has been done. Why don't you tell the customer everything? Are you afraid they would be deterred and not wanting too sign up for it? You clearly know, in marketing practice, that Singaporeans are by nature more "Kiasu" then everyone else. Therefore, you took advantage of this weakness to lure people in, then retort by saying this is "marketing strategy".

On another point, you have aforementioned that "the fact that over 2000 travellers have used our vouchers and completed travel speaks louder than all this lousy foolish bickering.". Over 2000 travelers? Yes, that might have been a respectable number. But how about being transparent with us and showing us the statistics, the success rate of each customers, and the total number of customers that went down for the talk, and then the percentage of those that ACTUALLY signed up? 2000 is a number gathered from years of forceful persuasion and bomphiologia. No, I am not saying this because of hate, I am saying this because many customers, and even my parents were subjected to this torment. "Let us correct you, Dynamikz has been around since 2003 and has grown in time. We are not a two year old company as you proclaim although our Pte Ltd branch was formed in 2007." 2000 customers for more than 6 years? This is a very miserable number in sales.

Also, what sales representative uses such poor mastery of the English language to tackle his customers?
"don't be a sour grape and tell people not to redeem";
"We are not a charity organization to be giving away FREE holidays"
"are not going to shoot themselves by giving you a crappy stay!"
"or have been overpromised by some third party that its entirely free and blah blah blah (not to mention you were foolish to believe them in the first place). "
"Please do not be so shallow and bicker on internet forums".

And you have boldly stated your claim: "We do not engage in hard selling or pressure techniques to market our products and services and its a very straight forward "You like it, you take it, you don't like it there are no purchase obligations, we part of as friends" "

But it is an entirely different experience when my parents went to visit your company by the mandatory talk. They were pressured by a Caucasian and were even subjected to personal attack upon rejecting the contract multiple times.

I will convince my parents not to sign up for this trip. Even your company name is suspicious. Dynamikz Netwerkz? Is this L33t 5p34kz or something? I have read through the posts and have concluded in my own ways. Till date, I have not even found a single article singing praise about your company other than your very own company and your very own website itself. What can you say about this?

Websites have even cautioned to stay away from your companies.
